Security mirrors are not limited to those that must be mounted on ceilings and walls. Vehicle inspection mirrors are used in a variety of businesses for looking beneath the exterior of just about anything. Movie theaters, car inspection shops, hospitals, manufacturing plants and schools all use inspection mirrors to increase the safety of looking where no human eyes can see while standing.

The vehicle inspection mirror is most commonly used at security checkpoints to view the undercarriage of the vehicle. The user is trying to ensure there are no safety concerns that should stop the vehicle from entering the country or even the parking lot. The small mirrors are attached to a curved base that allows the user to view the undercarriage of the car without bending down and placing him or herself in harm's way.

For larger vehicles, a telescopic inspection mirror can be used. These security inspection mirrors are used in the same way as the traditional safety mirrors, but the handle extends allowing the user to view more of the underside of the car or truck. The telescopic inspection mirror is commonly used with big rigs or RVs. The telescopic handle also allows for easier viewing of the top of most large vehicles. The handles generally extend to 51 inches or more.

Other Uses for the Vehicle Inspection Mirror

Aside from vehicle inspection, these mirrors can also be used for inspecting under desks in school, chairs in auditoriums, beds in hospitals and chairs in movie theaters. For the business owner, the use of these safety mirrors is more about personal safety and injury prevention. If a 100 seat movie theater is being cleaned, great strain would be placed on the back of the employees if they needed to bend to ground level and check for trash under every chair without the use of a safety mirror.

Ergonomics is a huge concern when it comes to preventing employee injuries in the workplace. The ergonomically designed security inspection mirrors come with an elbow rest to prevent overuse of the wrist. The unit also comes with or without a flashlight for safe viewing during both day and night hours. The unit weighs less than five pounds.

For smaller security needs, a mini vehicle inspection mirror is available with a small 8 inch mirror and a 40 inch handle. The unit is lightweight and offers the chance for users to view tight areas and places where the traditional security inspection mirror simply would not fit.
